SIAMSA stands for something about Scottish Irish... I never figured it out! Basically it was a St. Patrick's Day parade. Since Heather takes Irish dance lessons, makes sense that they would participate in this parade. It was an interesting day. First of all it is March and it is COLD! Who needs to start a parade at 10 in the morning? Especially in March, it isn't going to get too hot later in the day! At the start of the morning (we were supposed to be there at 8) it actually wasn't too bad. Could've been worse- it got worse. The clouds started moving in and the wind picked up. The girls were in dresses. Most had pants on under to keep warm and of course coats. The deal was that during the parade, no coats or pants. Well, as the RAIN started falling it was decided that they could wear coats until a certain point only if they had parents to take them before turning into the main parade part. Then it was, okay everyone can wear coats. Then it was decided that they would meet the parade before the main part- not even walk the first part. It ended up with everyone drenched, wearing coats and pants, and freezing anyway. But it sure was memorable and the kids seemed to have a good time in spite of the uncooperative weather. The purpose of this whole story is to explain why there are no actual parade pictures, just practicing.
This is Heather with some of the other kids in her class lol!! She got a later start obviously. But she is moving up fast!
